#3DS Renderer for UNIX?

Does anyone know if the 'soon to be announced' renderer for the Silicon Graphics platform is SGI only, or is it going to be a UNIX app. that can be run on any UNIX machine, like, say, a DEC Alpha? Any response will be appreciated!

SGI only, with SGI doing the port.
