Is the IPAS developer kit compatible with the Watcom C/C++ 10.0
version?
Hi Peter,
<< Is the IPAS developer kit compatible with the Watcom C/C++ 10.0 version? >>
IPAS3 is not. It supports 9.5.
IPAS4 support for watcom 10 has not been announced but it is a big user wish.

Thanks
I bought WATCOM 10 at just recently (at the same time upgraded to 3DSr3) to
start writing IPAS programs. Indeed there are problems. Do I take it that you
do not suggest pursuing solution to these problems at this time? and try to get
WATCOM to trade me a version 9.5? Any suggestions?

If you want to be productive *today*, contact watcom, tell them you need 9.5
for IPAS development. They have been accomodating to developers in the past.
10.0 is a heavily requested compiler from developers. However, keep 10.0 for
IPAS4.

I think there was a little confusion in our conversation. In the IPAS3 Toolkit
Reference page 5 it says "WATCOM C/386 9.5" is the required compiler. WATCOM
says there is no such compiler. In the example BAT files for IPAS3 the name
used is "WATCOM C/C++32 optimizing compiler (9.5)". WATCOM says there is a
compiler with this name (if I could find one for sale). However, the compiler
that I have located is called "WATCOM C32 for DOS 9.5". WATCOM says these are
two different compilers. My question is – will "WATCOM C32 for DOS 9.5" work or
do I need "WATCOM C/C++32 optimizing compiler 9.5"? Thanks for your help.
