Hi, Has anyone had any problems with Terminus when pressing Control S and Control Q to pause the display? Once I press Control S to pause the screen, 5 seconds later it gurus. I cann't seem to find what causes it. Different Emulations, changing buffers,.. nothing keeps it from doing this. It seems like a buffer overflows or some type of timeout maybe, I am not sure. Thanks, Jim

Jim, It may be simple…go to your serial preferences and make sure you've got XON/XOFF flow control set. See if that helps. Don

Thanks Don, I tried it on and off and no change. It seems strange because the screen pauses, then when I use Control Q it is like it catches up. The screen scrolls really fast untill it reaches the data that is currently being sent by CompuServe. I think Terminus is not telling CompuServe to pause. It is only pauses its own display then crashing when a buffer fills up. I even tried changing my paths to my harddrive so it wouldn't fill up. This is all just theory, but it kinda describes the scenario. I think I try playing with my terminal settings online. Who knows, I seem to be the only one with this problem. Thanks, Jim

Jim, Actually…that's exactly what's happening from your description, the internal buffer is overfilling…and the terminal program can't handle it. Your path would have nothing to do with it…the buffer is in RAM within the terminal program and/or the operating system. In that case…the best you could do would be to set serial prefs for NONE on flow control…let it pass the ^S and ^Q on to CIS. Don
