I presently have an A2000 with a Sony CPD-1303 multiscan monitor (15-34kHz
horizontal sync). I would like to operate in Hi-Res interlaced mode without the
annoying flicker. What's my best option ? If I get a graphics board, will that
do the trick ? If so, will I need to get a different monitor ? Thanks for any
help.

Get a de-lacer card for use with the monitor.
The monitor sounds like it supports all the screenmode the A200 can produce,
but the A2000's graphic chips are limited when generating the higher rates
(27-31kHz) signals.
A de-lacer card (flicker fixer), like Commodore's A2320 card will convert ALL
the NTSC & PAL screenmodes into VGA modes, which can then be displayed on your
monitor.

Just to stop the flicker all you'll need to use is Flickerfixer or a
FlickerFree Video II or the Commodore flicker fixer. All three are a card that
fit into the video slot on the A2000. Your monitor sounds like it will work
just fine.

Thanks Chris. Since I've got a Toaster in the video slot, I guess I'm out of
luck ? Is a graphics card the only option ?

There is an extender adapter you can purchase that lets the Microway
Flickerfixer reside in another slot. You have to snake a ribbon cable over from
the video slot. I think (not too sure) that one of the other flicker fixers can
reside in one of the other expansion slots and not need an adapter. However,
I can't recall the exact particulars on it.
