#Magic WorkBench install.
2 messages in this thread
Today I received Magic Workbench 2.0 in the mail. When I tried
installing it I received messages such as "resident command is not
present", "wrong number of arguments", and "IU:unknown command"
I believe that this may be because the installation is looking for AGA
or AMigaDOS 3.0 specific commands. Can anyone out there tell me what I can
do to install this program manually? (I tried following the instructions
given by the install program "Execute install…", but that didn't work)

I had the same problem. The author said it has to do with a "bug in some
versions of IconX." I'm not sure if I believe that, but the solution he
suggests is fairly simple. Ido not know what the program is looking for.
Fisrt unpack the program with LhA (for example to RAM:) because that is
what the "Unpack MagicWB" program does I believe. Then using Shell,
change the directory to RAM:MagicWB (or the proper path and directory) and
use the execute command; type "execute install" (no quotes, of course).
You'll need to use this technique for any of the update programs as well.
If there is a space in the name of the program, either change the name,
deleting the space (Update Drawers->UpdateDrawers) or use quotes around
the name (e.g. execute "Update Drawers"). I know the first way works.
I'm pretty sure the second is proper as well.
This is what finally worked for me. Forgive me if this is either to
elementary or unclear. Let me know.
