I did solve the problem and the Oktagon 2008 will work:-) I found, after
lots of experimenting and help from various people that if I had the cdrom
drive running *and* with a disk in at booting the HDinstall program for
the Oktagon could then find the drive. From there the cdrom install
software had no trouble.
However it is also supposed to be able to play audio cds but haven't got
that to work yet:-(

I tried the Oktagon Hdinstall program with the CD drive on and a disk
inserted. No joy. Could I ask you to talk me thru exactly how you
proceeded and remind me what CDROM software you are using?
