#A3000 Startup?
3 messages in this thread
I just bought a used A3000 and decided to completely reinstall the system
software on its hard drive. That seemed to go okay except now, when I start
the machine I get a momentary dark gray screen and a message about loading
Kickstart 2.0…Rebooting, then everything okay. Bootup seems a tad sluggish
compared to my other A3000 which has NEVER displayed this behavior on startup.
Any ideas how to fix this problem, or what's causing it? Thanks George Roland
George,
It sounds like your used 3000 is older than your other one. The original
3000s kickstarted from a file on the hard dive. That's what that loading
Kickstart 2.0 … Rebooting means. It's normal, but if you want to "fix"
it, you can get the latest ROMS – assuming there are any left. They boot
directly from the HD into Workbench. I believe Expert Services in Kentucky
has the 3.1 ROMS, if you wan't the absolute latest.

George,
What ROM set does it have in it? You probably should go with a new 2.1
kit with ROM. If you can't find one, I have them..
Or, heck, maybe it's time to get a 3.1 kit….
