here's something scary to think about..did you see the news about the street
gang in Chicago (who has been dealing in drugs and numerous other illegal
activities) recently legally created their own political party and had a
"political street rally" that 40,000 some odd people attended..They are
nominating their own canidates for local office to "reform the system"…
As you say majority rules..
Alex
Alex,
40,000 in Chicago doesn't sound like a majority to me. And even if it
was enough to get one councilman (alderman?) elected, that'd still be a
minority on the city council (or whatever Chicago calls its equivalent).
I do not know this…in fact this is the first I've ever heard that
story…but would not be surprised if they gave away some form of freebie (such
as food or beer) at that rally. The type of inducement always attracts large
crowds, even if they're not interested in the message…a free meal or beer is
always welcome.
Don
Don,
The Chicago gang/politics story has been in the national news lately. The
drug lords are forcing their dealers to kick back a percentage of their
earnings to finance their political ambitions. They've no shortage of
finances.
But, it's Chicago, so not unexpected with it's history of Capone and the
corrupt Dem party machines of the past.
