VR – AutoCAD
3 messages in this thread
Hi,
Can you help me?
I represent a company of architects who use drawing packages such as
Autocad 10 , Autocad 11 and 3-D Studio. One of the Partners, Mr Andre Krige,
is anxious to move his presentations to prospective clients into the 21st
century. At present he uses 3D studio to create animations of clients buildings
but as you are aware this lacks the true 3D effect. We would obviously like to
someday arrive at the scenario :- a client straps on a headset & gloves and
'walks' through his building making changes wherever he wants.
We are not sure if this technology exists as of yet to take us to this point
but we are willing to look at anything that is avaliable. We do not mind doing
some development e.g writing code etc as my client has always been at the
forefront of technology in this country and is keen to stay there.
My details are:-

Thanks to Jonas for mentioning us….
We would be happy to answer any questions about NAVIGATOR. It is designed for
3D Studio and AutoCAD users. We read in DXF and 3DS files and are currently
using VUE files for importing animations into the virtual world, with or
without camera action included. This means that while the animation in playing,
you are free to fly around and do things (edit objects, access in-environment
hypertext, etc.) There are several tools available for the client to walk about
and change things with, we call them wands. There is even a user definable wand
via ascii script files. We support hardware from keyboard, monitor and mouse up
through full 6D sensors and head mount displays, all from the same version of
the software. There is an AutoCAD ADS version and a stand alone. Someday…
we'll be inside of 3D Studio….<ggg>
We will add you to our mailing list. Contact us if you like, 'pleased to meet
you….
