<<How much memory does the machine have? Have you run any memory tests? >>
Hi Jonas,
The client has 16 meg on the notebook and 24 meg on the tower. The
last time I spoke with him, Friday 10/21, he said that normal rendering was now
starting to page and that on the 24 meg computer he can't remember that
happening before. I told him to reload 3DS3 and havn't spoke with him since.
If that doesn't clear it up I'm going to bring him a new set of disks and see
if that helps.
I will follow your suggestion and run some diagnostics on his memory. I guess
that means dusting off the diplomat hat, I can understand his reluctance to
consider a memory/hardware problem, knowone wants to here that tune $$.
Thank You, ComWorks
Hi Randy,

After loading the project file have the customer do an Info Status (ie. "?"),
verify that all of the memory is seen. Have the customer review the memory
usage charts on pgs 117.. of the Installation Guide. Raytracing is very memory
intensive. Verify that the drive that the swap file is pointing to has room for
the swap file..
..if everything looks good, after all of that, you will have to run the memory
tests..
