#vibrant drivers

how about support for the cirrius logic 5434 64 bit chip? vibrant had it in
1.0.4 but not in 1.0.5. i can't run the spider 64 other than in vesa mode. a
call to vibrant was no use at all, they said call autodesk, which in turn told
me to call vibrant. i like ping pong but not with drivers. if it not going to
be included then can you e-mail me the 1.0.4 drivers? i had them but then lost
them.

I've emailed the 1.0.4 driver to you. Remember, however: Vibrant has asked
Autodesk to say that any problems with 1.0.4 will not be fixed, instead,
recommend the customer try 1.0.5. Then, if you have problems with 1.0.5, tell
Autodesk, not Vibrant. Autodesk will then officially request Vibrant to fix
the problem or support the card.
Hope this helps.

the spider 64 is an excellent card, how would i get autodesk to officialy ask
vibrant to support it? i really don't understand why it was taken out inrel
1.0.5. i would much rather be using the latest drivers. thanks for the e-mail.

Your request is official! What we're doing is keeping track of the cards
people need supported. We're collating the requests, and someone at Autodesk
gives the wishlist to Vibrant at regular intervals.
Thanks – is the Spider 64 the full name of the card? Manufacturer?
thanks , the official name is spider graphics inc. the card name is spider 64
vlb/pci. made in the usa.

Nik,
Could you tell me if the Vibrant drivers 1.0.5 support the Diamond Speedstar 64
card? I have the ISA version, and the 1.0.4 drivers supported the Cirrus Logic
5434 chipset, but not the specific card. If so, please let me know, if not,
please add this card to your list to be supported with future driver updates.
Thanks.
Doug
The 1.0.5 drivers are a subset of the 1.0.4 drivers. I've just checked, and
confirm that since it wasn't in 1.0.4, it isn't in 1.0.5. However, you're
registered as a Wishlist for future support. The 5434 chipset selection works,
I take it.
Nik
Thanks Nik,
Yes, the 5434 chipset selection works.
