Dear all
I am trying to produce a mirror object in 3D studio. I can produce a very
shiny marble or wood mirror object but everytime I try to take off the textures
from the object, it looks funny.
Any bright ideas out there?
Sanjay
Sanjay, please complete (carefully) the tutorials addressing the different
types of reflection mapping in 3DS. If there's still some questions, feel free
to give me a holler!

I'm not sure what kind of mirror you are creating. If it is a flat mirror then
from your description no problem. Are you trying to produce a bumpy "textured"
mirror? I would suggest investigating use of a mirror mask. Still only the
flat part of the mirror would reflect, the bumpy or etched part of the texture
would not. The only other thing you could do would be create a multiface mesh
which is actually bumpy or textured, seperate all the faces into individual
objects and then give them each a flat mirror mapping. I don't know the
context of your mirror and whether it is worthwhile to add so much detailed
attention to it.
