I fellow SteadyCam JR users. Have any of you needed to shoot continuoulsy with
you SteadyCam for an hour or more but battery limits of 40 minutes prevented
you from doing so. I considered using a battery belt pack but what about that
cable interfereing with SteadyCam operation. I came up with a solution that has
worked well for me. I built a special power cord to plug into a battery belt
pack, (which I also built) that attaches to the handle of the SteadyCam and
with special non interferring wires connects to the camera to provide that
extended time of continuous power to the camera while using the SteadyCam. I am
currently using the Canon A1-Digital camera in which the battery connects on
the bottom, a friend has the MII which has a side mount battery. This power
cord makes a big difference. I'd like to find out how much interest there would
be in this.
