Can you suggest any product (both hardware peripheral and software) that can do
the following:
I want to transfer some of my VHS video tapes to computer, enhance the quality
of the film (these are old films that have been originally shot in another
format), and then put the film back to tape.
I have a 486 based computer with 32 MB RAM, 3D-Studio V3, and bunch of other
graphics software.
I would appreciate any suggestions.

you may wish to check out products from Intel (such as the Personal Smart Video
Recorder using Indeo technologies) or Digital's PAR and PVR line.

Thank you for your suggestions. I am not familiar with any of the products you
mentioned. Can you tell me a bit about each one of them, their advantages and
disadvantages, etc?

after scrolling through over 1000 messages since your last post, Kambiz, i have
no idea which ones you're refering too <ggg> but would be happy to share any
experience i have if you can remind me. 🙂

I want to transfer some of my old VHS video tapes to computer. Do a bit of
manipulations; and transfer them back to tape.
You had mentioned two products:
– Personal Smart Video Recorder, and
– Digital's PAR & PVR line.
I am not familiar with any of these products. I would appreciate it if you
could send me more information on these and other relevant products.

may i suggest that you contact your local authorized Autodesk Multimedia
dealer. if your local authorized Autodesk Multimedia dealer is unfamiliar (or
unable) to provide detailed information on either of these products (or
analogous ones)… look for another dealer. 🙂
i could suggest many folks to go to, but i have no wish to get commercial.
also, a great multimedia dealership is worth its weight in gold.
i will suggest this though… get your hands dirty with stuff you might buy
before you by it. also, have a choice. see a few things first. you don't want
to rush on a decision this costly.
