#I have Speed?
5 messages in this thread
Anne,
I know a lot of people have been complaining about slower downloads due to
Cserve's new pricing policy, and I admit I am also a victim with painfully slow
response to even simply commands. All of a sudden, at about 12:00 Central time,
the service seemed to increase in speed about 3 or 4 times faster. Has cserve
just put in some new hardware? I noticed you had just cleaned out the message
section, so maybe it was something on your end that made it faster. Or is this
just a freak occurance, and when I log on tomorrow, everything will be tree sap
slow.

It took me a painful ten tries to get on tonight and at the moment I can't get
into ACAD at all. You must have hit a clear "spot" for a while. CIS is working
to get faster nodes and more of them. We shouldn't be so popular <G>
I can always get on and have good access around 7-9AM Eastern USA time and then
again about 2-3PM. I also think that two large events like the OJ trial and
Opal the hurricane send message traffic through the roof and no system can keep
up.
Complain to FEEDBACK. The more folks who let them know how slow the service is,
harder they work at it.
Anne
Thanks, although I hate to say 2-3 pm eastern is when I usually call. Ugg, you
mean it's even slower at other times????
I'll send some complaints down the pipeline, maybe it will jar something loose,
like back to the days of fast downloads.

By any chance did you delete my message to you while reading it live on line?
It's gone! We ask members not to delete messages since so many others read and
learn from them. Access today was much better even though it was a Sunday and a
lot of weekend users are on line. Maybe it's sunspots <G>
Anne
I know this might sound strange, but I didn't even know you COULD delete forum
messages. I don't know where it could have gone, I got a hold of it, but I
don't think I deleted it (Note: The right hand rarely knows what the left hand
is doing). I'm starting to believe the same aliens that are obviously slowing
down the system probably deleted the message. Anyway, I sent a letter to the
feedback section. They might even read it one day.
