#need rendering farm

i will have a great deal of rendering to do (about 8000 frames) and would like
to find a service bureau with enough horsepower to do this in a few days time.
they need to be 700x440x24bit field-rendered output to .ANI files. a P100
renders them out in about 6 min. each.
i would greatly appreciate any assistance!

I've moved your message about a rendering farm to the Take5/Want Ads section.
Most members looking to offer their services would look in this section. If you
don't get an answer in a couple of days, see if there is a rendering type
question up in 3D Studio section where someone is talking about this and hook
on a query for what you want.

Can I just make a small suggestion…
Can anyone offering things or asking for things let us know where they are? I
know most people assume CSERVE users are all U.S. based
but many of us aren't. Is there a simple way we can do this? Or is everyone
doing this and I've just missed the clues?

It used to be that any UID starting with 10 was overseas but the new series of
numbers that start with 102 can be anywhere. that used to be a clue as to where
folks were based but no longer.
No way to make folks put in the info into their offerings. Since all price
negotiations should be done in email with exchange of address and all that
would be the way of finding out.
I forget very often how global this medium is. I regularly talk with quilters
all over the world and exchange fabrics with others in Australia and Japan.

Yes I know about the pricing policy (daft as I find it) but it does mean we
all have to mess about with e-mail exchange and the delays involved just to
find out someone wants a rendereing farm…. but 6000 miles away !
I just wondered if there was a simple way round the problem is all.

I can't remember the exact name (bad Anne) but over in ASHOWCASE I have an ACAD
produced drawing called something like MARINER.GIF of one of my designs. Gayle
took that drawing and colored it, skinned it and made it into a mesh for me –
that's in the library also. I make a lot of quilts but only use two of them to
sleep under. hard sometimes to put all those hours of work into a quilt and see
three cats wrapped up in them <G>

Hey, now! I'd look upon their use of your quilt as an honor.
(While I wouldn't go quite so far as the Emperor did for his cat, I certainly
won't move if one of my cats is asleep on my jacket).
