How do I create a blitter object more than 200 pixels tall in AMOS? The object editor won't allow it.

The easiest way to be completely free with bobs and sprites dimensions in AMOS is to draw your sprites with Deluxe Paint and grab them with a self-made frame grabber. I wrote one myself, and it's very easy: when you finished drawing your bobs, draw a rectangle around them with the 1st color. Then write a program which scans a loaded screen (the one with your bobs on it) line per line from left to right. You can do this with the POINT function. Every time POINT(X,Y)=1 then it's the start of a rectangle (=a frame). At this point make your program guess the size of the rectangle by incrementing a second variable from the point you found 'til the next empty point(end of the rectangle). Do the same thing with the height. Now you have your coords for grabbing the sprite, so grab it and "exclude" the zone you grabbed from the scanning process (do this by keeping track of the scanning process with a 2D table: every time you find a rectangle write 1 in the table using the rectangle coords). So let's say you've got a sprite to grab that goes from 20,20 to 54,54 then you have to guess the coords of the rectangle, get the sprite, and write 1 in the table "all over your sprite", so when the program scans the pixels it'll check if it's a 0 pixel in the table (aka a non grabbed part of the screen, a non grabbed sprite). Hum, sounds complicated. Think awhile about it and if you're stuck then contact me and I'll send you the one I wrote. See ya. Diego
