In any event, I'm the first to admit that software still involves a lot of art, and worse, artisty (hope that made sense). I hope there still a number of steppingstones left, or else we're in a sad shape. I hope you agree that whether on the OO or assembler side of the fence (and BTW, they do not necessarily need to be opposing each other!!!), `we simple ain't there yet'. OTOH, I think we need to keep to that programming involves a cognitive, creative, human thought process and that indeed involves art no matter how many "scientific" strides are hopefully made. Further, the diversity of things we are modelling are just so diverse that one way is simple never going to suffice (for now, that does leave us dangling from many cliffs though! ;-}).
