#WWW won't work.

I have been trying Mosaic to run with AmiTcp and ppp It dosn't seem to work. I
have read the text file on the subject. when is somone going to realse a
program that will easily be set up and execute so I can get into the WWW
through compuserve. Is the professional AmiTcp 4.0 pro actualy work? I can get
AMosaic no net to work on files on my hard drive. How can I get these programs
to acess the net?

Use InterInstall 1.51. Found in the Amiga Libraries as IINST151.LHA Works
GREAT.

I used interstal, it realy worky and it realy easy. Thanks! Joe
I hate to be a Rusty P <g> but I've loaded up InterInstall,
PPP & AMITCP all seem OK, directories seem fine, I have a Shell
"Internet" command that dials Compuserve and connects and doesn't error ,
and 2 Icons – "Internet" & "Stopnet" that seem to do similarly…
What do I do next????
I s'pose I run Mosaic..do I do it via the Internet shell??
What version, where is best to put it??
Will it get me NewsGroup access too??
Any help welcomed, no churlishness in reply, I promise!
Dave,
After you run the Internet icon you will get an little window in the upper
left hand corner of WB. Then you can start AMosaic or any other program. Just
click on the AMosaic icon. You can't run anything from the internet shell, it
just lets you know it's running. Just put AMosaic any place you want and use
the icon for it.
The version of AMosaic you can run depends on your version of WorkBench. If
you have 3.1 then you can use any version of AMosaic. If you have WB2.1 like
me, then you will have to use AMosaic 1.2. I think all the versions are here in
the libs.
As to the Usenet news groups, I've tried that with Mosaic and found it way too
slooooow. But yes, it can be done.
Hope this helps…Good luck.
PS. PLEASE don't be a Rusty. I stoped helping him awhile back. Too stuck up for
my blood.

Thanks Steve – this worked fine.. as long as I clicked on
the MUI icon first. I cruise the Web..but mostly in character mode.
Someone else said that to see the piccies
you had to have the GIF or ZGIF datatype in
Libs/datatypes.
Well, in Libs: I have a file datatypes.library
but in DEVS: I have a datatypes directory, containing
the types for MultiView..
I've found ZGIF.lha and plan to download tonight
Which of the two is the best destination??
Dave,
> I've found ZGIF.lha
Try ZGIFDT.LHA in library 13 from the AmigaArts forum. It will tell you where
to transfer the files.
Erich
As far as i know the datatypes go into your devs:datatypes/ dir. If that still
doesn't work then try the other. Or, if you have plenty of space, try putting
them in both.
As for the MUI icon, i never have to click on it at all. Do you have MUI
assigned in your user-startup file? It should be automatic if you used the
install script that came with it. But as long as it works ok…:)

If I remember correctly, there are instructions in the archive that will
make that clear, but mine is in DEVS:datatypes.
