Dan, >> Looking through the messages, it seems like there's some debate as to the viability of this process. << I can confirm that the DOC-virus Dan is talking about really does exist. Microsoft even wrote a Word-macro to prevent the virus of causing trouble. If installed, this MS-macro is executed everytime Word is started. I work in a multinational and they sent out a notice to all personal using Word 6.0, to install that MS-macro. The virus itself is a macro that is automatically executed everytime you open an infected-document. It then installs itself in the other (open?) doc-files it can find. Many of my collegues send DOC-files on a daily basis with the company's EMail-system, so you can see this virus can spread *very* fast. The Microsoft-macro I mentioned above also came with a DOC-file explaining how the virus works, so I can send it to anyone who is interested. Karl >The Microsoft-macro I mentioned above also came with a DOC-file explaining how the virus works, so I can send it to anyone who is interested.< Well, if you don't mind… 🙂 >ppp.device works with empser.device, but empser.device is not completely compatible with serial.device. It does not support the EOF-mode. If you put NOEOFMODE in your ppp configuration it should work with empser.device.< Remember this? It comes straight from Holger Kruse. Have you tried it? Rafael, >> Well, if you don't mind… 🙂 << Coming up. >>Remember this? It comes straight from Holger Kruse. Have you tried it? << I remember reading the post but haven't tried it yet. I have to admit my Emplant doesn't get started up very much the last couple of months. I installed ShapeShifter and it runs more reliable on my system and also on a better resolution than Emplant does (CV64). I even do all my surfing with Netscape on it instead of using AMosaic. The Amiga needs a good web-browser fast! Now that you reminded me of this fix, I'm going to try it his weekend. Did Holger say if not using the EOF-mode had any other disadvantages?
