Hello, maybe you can help me? I am trying to figure out how to use the program AMIARC to unarchive GIF viewers. So far I have had no luck. It tells me in the description before I downloaded the program to type AMIARC for detailed instructions, but they are pretty vague for a novice like me. It tells me the usage format, but does not say where I should enter this command. How do I run this program, I double clicked on it's icon, but that just gets me the instructions in an output window. I tried entering the usage in the output window, but it did nothing. I don't even know if I am correct with the command itself? Can you help me? I have an Amiga 500 with 1mg chip ram, and 3 mb fast ram. Thanks for any help, Scott Ramaly

Scott, You don't need to unarchive GIF files. They are naturally archived, but any GIF Viewer can unpack them as they are read in. As for AMIARC – I don't know that program at all. Nearly everything in our libraries is packed with LHA from LHA138.RUN in Library 14 of AmigaUser. —Betty

Scott, <I am trying to figure out how to use the program AMIARC to unarchive GIF viewers. It tells me in the description before I downloaded the program to type AMIARC for detailed instructions, but they are pretty vague for a novice like me. It tells me the usage format, but does not say where I should enter this command. How do I run this program?> The commands should be entered through the cli/shell. Lets say you want to unpack Gifviewer.arc. You should copy it to ram: and cd to ram:. At that point, in a shell or cli, you would type the command (and any options you may wish to use). So it might be something like: amiarc x Gifviewer.arc (I am not familair with this particular program, so that might not be the exact command that is used). Does this help? Asha @}–,–`–
