THANK YOU for clarifying that — re the ics driving the bus vs. the resistors
"passively" keeping the termination voltage within range. I did not fully
understand what was meant by "active" termination… I thought that it meant
that the drive supplied POWER for termination, not attempt to regulate the
voltage itself. <the dawn breaks over my weary head>
I knew if I stayed on CIS for a good 10 years or so, I'd learn SOMETHING.. at
least, that's what my dad said when he got it for me…in 1983. <g>
Apparently, then, my Seagate drive does NOT have "Active Termination", but it
CAN supply power to its own resistors and/or the bus!
