Betty, We have been having a discussion in Hardware Issues, and I need a ruling from you on the legality of uploading some software. I bought the MultiFace Card III which came with software dated 1993. This software is only good for someone who has the Multiface series of cards, (the ultimate dongle) 🙂 Anyway, Alfa Data and bsc (the german distributor) have not answered eMail or my registration card, and two users Michael Shea 76665,3360, and Carl Hansen 75300,1050 could use the upgraded software. Can I upload it to the General forum library or directy to them? or is this against the copyright. Roy Nash 70662,747 Amiga A500 Flyng High on AutoPilot

Roy, If the software is copyrighted, then we can't accept it here in the libraries without the permission of the copyright holder. Doesn't matter if it's useless without the card or not. Obviously, we have no control over what you do via EMail. Don

Roy, Even in the case of software that is no longer available from the manufacturers, I would not feel right to have it in our libraries. As you say, though, it is only good for those who have the hardware -and it should have come with the hardware. What you do via Email is completely apart from the forum, and that would be the proper place to work it out, I think. Good enough? —Betty
