Just a couple of things I noticed on TV last night. Thought some of you may be
interested:
1) One of the channels that displays message boards and schedules while
playing music in the background was having a little problem. There was
what looked like a standard 2.04/2.1 WorkBench screen with a number of
open windows with a system requester in the top left hand corner. It
appears that drive dh0: has a read error. (By the way, the music was
still playing.)
2) It appears that users of Windows 3.1 and Windows '95 have a valuable tool
available to them. For only $ 125.00 plus shipping and handling, these
lucky users can obtain video cassettes to aid them in the usage of their
particular operating system.
Just a couple of thoughts….

Sounds like the Preview channel! Seems that almost nation-wide the Preview
channel is running on Amigas. I've seen the old "Guru meditations" (black and
red screen) several times (mostly late at night or early in the morning), but
I've never seen a workbench screen….. 🙂

The best was a couple of years ago when I saw something very similar. The only
difference was the pointer was moving around the screen opening and closing
various screens. Apparently, someone was attempting to find the problem – not
very successfully. I got a good chuckle out of that one.
BTW, on the other part of my message – does the Amiga have training tapes like
the PC? I seem to remember _Something_ when the Amiga first came out, but I
personally don't see that much of a need for it.

It's a shame there isn't an 800 number one can call when these things
happen. I'd love to help someone get the Preview Amiga up and running again,
or just tell them it's crashed (which is what I see most often). Ah
well…it's always fixed by the next morning. 🙂

There may have been something like that 'back in '85, but I've never seen
it, nor really found a need for it. There is (or was) one for Imagine and
maybe one for Lightwave as well, and I did see a demo tape for DCTV. It would
be a nice idea (for dealers) if AT made something along the lines of the DCTV
tape to show in their shops though.

You're right. That would be a good idea.
But, like you said, I've never seen a need for it either. I guess that's why
they called this "Intuition."

When I got my first A500 (back in the days of WB 1.2) it came with an
interactive tutorial program. You booted the disc and it went through a tour of
the workbench telling you mo move the mouse, click the buttons etc. I have seen
some tutorial videos on sale for Personal Paint and DPaint but not for the
Amiga itself.
