What's the best program to handle (move, rotate, edit) gif files for workbench
1.3? Or do I need to upgrade before delving into graphics? Thanks all!
Alan,

I'm not sure it's possible to manipulate GIFs under 1.3… An old version of
Adpro might work (not 100% sure about this though) but you most likely won't be
able to view it (not enough colors).
You don't mention what machine you're using (500? 2000? 1000?) so I don't
know how easy it would be to upgrade your system. You can upgrade the OS to
3.1 for any of those machines, but you'd still be limited color wise, unless
you can put a graphics card into your machine (not possible with the 1000,
probably hard, or not possible with the 500).
You can still fool around with graphics (at least in theory) with an old
machine, you're just limited as to colors, resolutions and formats.

Thanks for the info. I'm on an A500 which I'm planning to update to 3.1 in the
next month or two. I have 2megs chip ram and 8megs fast, is this sufficient?

With OS 3.1 you will get Multi-view and will be able to use datatypes. There
are several good GIF ones. Your only limitation will be colors. Your A500 is
only capable of 16 colors in hi-res and GIFs are normally 256 colors, so the
displayed pictures will probably not look "right", but you will be able to see
something. <g>

I have been able to view some gifs, and while the edges of the pictures are
somewhat distorted the rest looks pretty good.

Great! Glad you had some success!
