A friend of mine with no access to CIS has asked me to post in this forum the
following question, nobody in Spain seems to be able to answer:
In his company they have upgraded the computers from 486 to Dell Dimension
Pentiums. They have two P90 and one P75. In both P90's they are getting this
error with 3DS Release 3:
Abnormal program termination: Memory protection fault
CS:EIP = 000Fh:00173C05h
In the P75 the program runs perfectly. Apart from processor the P90s differ
from the P75 in the network card (3COM) and the video card (Number 9). The
problem is that they had intended to run the program in one of the faster
machines, as you can imagine.

There are a couple of others here who have experienced this error. The
approach which seems to work is to make sure you have your FILES=100 or some
other reasonable number in your start up. If this doesn't cure the problem
then it is best to strip down your startup to only that which is necessary and
try again.
