#File Corruption
2 messages in this thread
Hello, is there anyone out there who has seen any of these problems, if so
please, let me know I would apreciate an suggestions.
I have had several project files become corrupted. One problem is that when I
load a project file it says "invalid project file" and then it loads the file
but some of the geometry is missing. (this has happened a couple of times
lately and it is a BIG problem).
Another bug that happens more frequently is that there are several project
files the have a display problem connected with then. If I load one of these
files then I can't display an image file in the editor or in the materials
editor, but I can render an image and strangely enough, after I render an image
then I can view other image files. I have tried re-saving the project files
with different names and just saving off single meshes and merging into a new
project, the display bug stays with any and all of the geometry. It stays with
the file when it is loaded on another computer also.
A third problem is that on some of those files it has affected the display of
the images used as texture maps when viewed in the materials editor, they look
like they are being viewed at 256 colors, at the same time I can load other
images in the materials editor that look just fine.
re: invalid project files: there is a thread file dealing with these in the
libraries. Look for INVPRJ.ZIP. It seems to be usually caused by hard disk
controller problems, or network problems (if you are saving across the net).
