The firmware for the IBM drives has been provided by IBM to NewTek, and as far
as I know is not generally available as an IBM product (as this would
apparently take at least another year of testing from the IBM internal QA
guys).
I do not know if or how this has been made available to anyone outside of
NewTek, including distributors or dealers. I do know that changing the
firmware on the drives (required on all shipped versions of the IBM's) is not a
procedure for the weak at heart or lacking of resources (spare PC clone,
specific board rev SCSI controller, special ASPI driver revs, and book of magic
spells).
