Hi!
I am trying to set up a small demo of some of the things I do, including 3DS
animations under windows NT. I was going to use Authorware Pro, but I can find
no way to load and unload a .flc in memory (I have 64 Mb), so that a 640×480
.flc will run at an optimal speed. I could try converting to .avi, but I have
the suspicion that this will not be an improvement.
So, back to the beginning, how can I set up a semi-multimedia demo under
windows NT that allows at least a fairly good demo of some 3DS flics?
I am in a bind, so any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thx in advance,

Kevin,
I'm not sure if this'll help, but a DOS-based flic player that loads the entire
flic into RAM (assuming you've got enough) is available from GRAPHVENA forum in
VRLI Inc.'s lib. It's called PLAYFL.LZH. The .LZH extension is a compressed
format like a .ZIP, if you hadn't run across it before. If you need it, there's
sure to be a sw/fw decompression util around the graphics forums that'll expand
it for you.
Hope this helps,
SCL
Thanks Steven, that may help out. I was looking for a more useful package,
similar to the media1.exe file in "Utilities", but this doesn't look like it
will load the flic into memory either. I will give the player a look.
I don't know if this will help, but there are some shareware programs that will
let you use *.flc's as screensavers, maybe one of them will let you do what you
want with some fidgiting.
