I wouldn't hold my breath for that if I were you. Somebody just managed to
finish a C-64 emulator for PC, and it needs a 486DX2-66 to run at 100% C-64
speed… The C-64 has an 8bit CPU clocked at 1MHz. The (old standard) Amiga has
a 32/16bit CPU clocked at about 7MHz plus several custom chips which allow it
to perform much better than the (by today's standards) meagre CPU performance
would make you think it could. Let's assume a tenfold increase in performance
over the C-64, then it would take a PC with a 486 CPU clocked at about 660MHz
to make it perform like an A500/A2000. It's the same the other way round. There
still isn't a decent PC Emulator in software for the Amiga, even with
(nominally) similar CPU power. A weight lifting champion may life as much as
500 pounds (or can they?) but he just cannot do world-class gymnastics and vice
versa.
