Last time I asked our local Escom branch they said they didn't know if they would be selling Amigas, but at least they had heard of them. Our local Tandy shop say they will be selling the A1200 sometime in November. Peter Wade Autopiloting from London, England

> Our local Tandy shop say they will be selling the A1200 sometime in November. TANDY?? That is quite a statement. I might even feel justified to walk into such a store if they actually sold Amiga's. Greg

Isn't Tandy Radio Shack? Does that mean that USA Radio Shacks might soon begin selling Amigas? What a strange idea. Mr. Zombie

I think it highly unlikely that they would be carrying Amigas in the States. The European Tandy shops would probably carry them, though. Tom

>>I think it highly unlikely that they would be carrying Amigas in the States.<< Oh well. It would have been especially strange since Radio Shack just started carrying IBM PCs. Mr. Zombie

I don't know how strong a connection there is between the UK and USA Tandy shops. When they first opened over here they only sold their own brand names. Over the last few years they have relaxed that but I only asked them out of sheer desperation, they didn't sell Amigas before. Peter Wade Autopiloting from London, England

Tandy used to sell amigas, my local one did anyway, until they couldn't get anymore that is. They also stocked cd32's, recently they have stopped stocking consoles completely. I guess they were not making any money out of it. Phill

I see now the Amiga range is listed and shown in the lasted dealer catalogue/price list from SDL. The 4000T looks nice, or it's case does. About the only flaw is the price and I honestly think there'll not sell when they get placed next to a 133Mhz Pentium when you compare the prices, especially when you don't even get a monitor. On top of this (and sorry Escom) Escom staff have a hard enough time selling PCs as is it, so what there'll do with the Amiga I don't know. About the only good thing going for the Amiga is that it won't need as much support as the PCs need due to it's good OS, but this is something a saleman will never mention. Talking Tandy and the US connection, I would think it a strong connection, as there shops seem to staffed by US folk more than UK folk. Also, if Tandy do stock Amiga, it'll be the first time they've stocked a good computer. What image this will place on the Amiga is anyones guess however. >>What image this will place on the Amiga is anyones guess however. I think that Tandy's Radio Shack has a great reputation for great values on inferior products. <vbg> They also have a 21% plus credit plan. They are selling IBM machines now, and have the new "Incredible Universe" that features most products. There you could get a side by side comparison with all platforms. (Assuming knowledgable sales people…Oh well..You could see them side by side! <g>) J i m m y W a l l i s %—————————-%
