#MCI, FLC, and palettes

Is there some way to prevent a FLC file from changing the palette when it is played via MCI commands? I have a FLC which is mapped to the current background palette, but there is always an ugly flicker when it starts and stops. I'm using Visual Basic but we've had the same problems with other programs, like Icon Author.

I have a FLC which is mapped to the current background palette, but there is always an ugly flicker when it starts and stops. << not that i know of. <g> the only technique i've seen which seems to have no hiccups is to use a "unity palette"… this requires a program like Animator Pro to create… all FLCs to be shown have their palettes squeezed down and combined into a single palette which accomodates all, and this is saved in all in the FLC file itself. when played… the same palette is being used, so no flashes. -dave
