I am the proud (ha ha ha)owner of an A500 with 1.2. with a 68000. I would like to know if it possible to upgrade ( $ ). Will I be able to replace the processor or should I get a new motherboard or ??????? Please feel free to offer any advice that can help including best sources. I'd like to use this system to it's limits ( loyalty ) but I don't have any local support. Please help. Jon Bolliger [74650,215]

Hi John, Of course its possible to upgrade your A500. There are boards with 68020 and 68030 CPU's, and 68882-50 (!) copro's. On those boards you also can put PS/2 RAM's. These boards are (in Austria or Germany) about 140 – 200$. A new kickstart is about 70 $, OS 3.1 is about 150 $. If you need, you also get AT or SCSI controllers.( 100 – 200 $) And if you need, you'll also get a tower for all those things (incl your 500) for about 350 $. As you see, nearly everithing is possible, you just have to know wich features you need. I had the same "problems" with my A500 one year ago – I bought a A1200… Greetings from Vienna, Anton -Anton Gutscher
