Betty, Your posts on the Internet installation have all been very helpful. I've done basically everything you've told everyone else to do, but I'm having a little problem. – I ran InterInstall with AmiTCP and PPP in its directory, just like you and the ReadMe file said, – I answered the questions, – I rebooted, – I opened a shell and typed "internet" just like the ReadMe file said, AND – I watched a window titled "Dialing" pop up, place my initialization string in it, and sit there. I'm using the "serial.device" and unit #0, just like AutoPilot. My initialization string is simply ATZ. I think that's where the hang-up is. I looked at AP's initialization string, and it looks a tad bit longer. Should I change to match AP's? And, if so, where is it located? One final question: In the TCP's directory is an install icon for AmiTCP. Do I need to run this even though InterInstall did its stuff? Thanks for your help. Wolf Pup — Howlin' in the Waves…

Dan, You've gone past what I know with your latest questions. I'm sorry, but I just don't know that. However, you have it in the right section, and I just know that some of our knowledgeable members will jump in and help you! —Betty

Dan, I just finished using interinstall to get me connected to the internet. I kinda had the same problem with the init. script for the modem. You don't say what kind of modem you have but I'll give you my example. I have a 14.4 modem that I set at 19.2 port speed in the interinstall setup. I had to look in the modem book and get the settings for telling the modem to use compression and hardware error checking ( AT%C1\C1\N6\Q3\X0&D0). This allowed the modem to connect at the speed I put into the installation script. You do not have to install AmiTCP before you use interinstall. The interinstall program installs and starts AmiTCP and PPP for you. I hope this helps, if this doesn't help let me know. Good luck. **Rebel**
