I just heard that going through companies like CServe and AOL is slower than going through a direct carrier like MCINet. Does anyone know if that's correct? Just so you'll know, my brother just went to an internet class for work where the instructor started a searches side-by-side by going through MCINet and AOL. He said AOL was MUCH slower… Wolf Pup — Howlin' in the Waves…

Dan, >>I just heard that going through companies like CServe and AOL is slower than going through a direct carrier like MCINet. Does anyone know if that's correct?<< AOL in particular HAS problems. There is a letter in MacWeek 10.23.95 from a person at the company that makes their web browser and lists several paragraphs of AOLs problems. (They are working on it!) Compuserve "feels" pretty good in comparison (at 28.8). I haven't tried an "independent" yet (soon!). It depends on what their setup is… Computers, Software, Phone Lines (T1, ISDN, 28.8?) etc. Time of day has an effect too during "Internet Rush Hour". / / / //ANDRE
