#Primera Problems
3 messages in this thread
I have the original Primera color printer. i am now getting a streak down each
color print even after thoroughly cleaning the print head and insides of the
printer. According to the manual, this is an indication that I need a print
head replacement. Has anyone actually changed the print head in the Primera?
Is this a reasonably simple operation or one that requires that the printer be
sent back to Fargo Electronics?
Thanks for the help.

Tom…
I had the same problem and had to send the printer back. Mine was done
under warranty, however, so I don't know how much it will cost you. It is one
of the heating elements that fails. :^(

Carl,
Thanks for the information. I am happy to say that it turns out the printing
element of my Primera was *not* faulty. I had rotated a very large image in
ImageFX2 and was attempting to print it. Somehow the simple 90 degree rotation
had introduced a streak-like artifact into the image itself which the Primera
was simply faithfully reproducing. Since I have never had anything like this
happen before, I never thought to look at the image itself for the problem
until I ran the self-test on the Primera and it looked perfect. That's when I
grew suspicious of the image itself, and sure enough there was the streak that
I had been seeing in the prints.
Again thanks for the response.
