By now you are probably tired of answering this question but here it
goes.. How does the SONY XBR 13 inch compare to the Amiga 1070 monitor. I like
the fact that, as you once mentioned, the XBR has an alternate, longer lasting
use. Given that there is a shortage of Amiga monitors this may be the ideal
time for me to trade. I am mostly interested in knowing whether I will gain or
lose anything as far a picture quality. What is the dot pitch of the SONY?
Also, maybe you can tell me how it also compares to the 1080. By the way, what
kind of applications are you developing for the Mac? If it's l1/ / Also, please
tell me how I can list the message I am editing while in FILGE!

Don't think there's any such thing as a 13" XBR. They only come in
20 and 25" varieties. Stick with the 20", or ask Steve Ahlstrom about
the monitor he's using. Given the bigger picture, you'd expect to lose
some picture quality. Funny thing is, you don't and I think it's due
to the XBR's superior electronics. Don't know off-hand (it's not in the
consumer-supplied specs), but I think the dot pitch is around .32 or
.34. I've compared it to the 1080 and the 1070 and I like mine better.
It's nice to be able to switch back and forth from Gill Cable A to B
to Amiga RGB, all from the remote control. Come on over sometime and
I'll show you my setup. I live in south San Jose almost across the
street from IBM (no jokes, please).
Right now, I'm developing some business applications for the Mac,
one a vertical market project for lawyers and the other a more general
business product that will integrate nicely with the legal one.
I don't use Filge for msgs. From the standard editor, it's a simple
'l' to list, 'su' to save unformatted, and other intuitive commands.

I work in a law office. Actually a lot of law offices – word processing
temp speciallizing in law (the most $, don't you know). As a result, I do
most of the dirty work involved – such as diary entering, etc. If I could
be of any help, I'd be happy to give you an insiders viewpoint. No Mac though
– although I do have access to one – but if you're porting it to the 'Miga…
keep me in mind if you're into Beta testing. BTW, I think the vertical market
is where this baby is really going to come into its own – the more personal
the function the more I think the market is their for this a far more sexier
machine – similar to comparing the Mac to the PC.
