Jez, does this mean that there will be hardware changes to the machine? I was
under the impression that the code in question used the existing barrel shift
capabilities of the graphic chip.

Yes, it uses the barrel shift capability of the chip, but the EXTA-HALFBRITE
display mode is only available in the NEW Denise chips. – Jez.
