To Anyone, I was reading in INFO magazine, that there's a great possibility that the Amiga will soon be enhanced or there will be an enhancement to give it double the graphics resolution, more colors and better sound. Can anyone tell me more about this? Also, I would like to add that I like the way the magazine is put together (all Lazer Printed), except they are very biased and much of what they say is untrue. Thanks, Oliver Chesler 72766,3554 p.s. Why doesn't CBM advertize in INFO??

I think you answered your first question by your last line.

Oliver, Didn't you answer your own question…INFO is biased and some of what they say is untrue….if you were CBM, would you pay them to continue doing that (advertisements keep INFO in business)? Yes, it is possible that within the next 6 months or so there will be a new graphics chip out for the AMiga….then again, it might take 6 years. At this stage…anything is possible althou 6 months does seem within the realm of probability also. Don

Don, based on what you know of Commodore policy, and of the `enhanceability' of the Amiga, what are the prospects that any improved graphics capabilities would be made available to owners of existing A500s and 2000s? I know it's a tough question to answer, but as the expectant owner of a 500 (I'll be picking up my unit tomorrow), it would be nice to have at least a glimmer of hope that we will not be left out in the cold if/when Commodore makes improvements to the line.

I don't think there's much chance at all of 'improved graphics capabilities' any time soon (at least not with the current lineup of machines). However, there is an excellent possibility of getting 1 meg chip ram (I can hear the groans already — "What!? Another 512k of SLOW ram!") that would be a relatively easy installation for 500 and 2000 owners.

Stephen, From what I know, and rumors I hear…it will be a low cost upgrade IF and WHEN a graphics enhancement becomes available. That is NOT fact, but is what I have heard and also is based on CBM's past policy with regard to the Amiga. Don
