#Word Perfect help?
5 messages in this thread
I am having a problem setting up a printer driver for Word Perfect on my Star
SG-10. I want to use Star mode and not IBM mode, so that I can use the printer
with Scribble! as well. I have followed the directions at least 20 times, but
in Star mode, I cannot seem to get the carriage return/linefeed to work. Even
if I set the automatic linefeed dip switch on the printer, it still will not
linefeed!! I've tried using <13><10> in the printer def program, but it still
doesn't work. Any help or insights will be appreciated. -Bob
Robert,
This may seem silly…but did you turn the printer off during or after
you made the dip switch setting changes and before you tested the new setting?
They won't take effect until the printer is turned off and then back on again.
Don
I believe I did turn the power to the printer off after changing the dip
switch, Don, but even still, I want to be able to switch between Scribble! and
Word Perfect without having to throw any switches. Maybe someone else out there
has solved the problem, or maybe I'm overlooking something stupid! I won't give
up until I solve it. Thanks, Bob.
Bob – I also have a star SG-10 and didn't want to toggle back and forth between
IBM and Star modes. My major problem, though, was in getting the correct VMI
codes in. If you like, I can E-mail all the codes I've put into the print-def
program that are working just fine for me (too many for the message board, I
think). If those don't work for you, then maybe the WP customer support people
can help? Let me know if you'd like the print-def codes list
@ Anne
Anne, I would love to have you E-Mail the codes to me. In fact, you could
probably type a text file with the codes and upload them to the AmigaForem for
anyone else who has the SG-10. How did you get the carriage return to work?
Thanks, Bob.
