Just connected an NEC P2200 to my Amiga 1000 works great except for one minor glitch. when I first plugged it in and tested it, everything printed double spaced. I called NEC and found out that this is a problem common to Compac's and Tandy's. Evidently also to Amiga. The CURE is to place a small piece of scotch tape over pin 14 on the printer end of the ccable. This disables an auto line feed signal on that line I did that and everything now works great.

Jerry, that's good news to a friend of mine… I will pass it along. Thanks. Question: I have hooked up a P2200 to my Amiga 2k at the store and printed a picture I had created in DPII with no line gaps what-so-ever. Do you think that problem could be only when printing text? I think I need to hook it up again and play a little more. -John

Thanks for the tip! I too was having problems with the double printing on the NEC P2200, but after reading your message, I tried the tape trick and everything is fine. Graphics still print out OK from DPaintII, so I guess the extra line feed signal was only with text printing. @ Anne
