Robert, I'd recommend getting the Panasonic WV-1410 camera as New-Tek suggests – a home-quality color camera won't give you anything like the same results. The lens that comes with it was designed for surveillance, and isn't much use for digitizing. The camera takes standard "C-mount" lenses – they've been used on 16mm. film cameras for years, and you can sometimes find a good-quality one for $25 or so. For average originals, a focal length of 25mm. (the most common one) in a focusing mount works fine. If you can find a zoom lens, it lets you change the image size without moving the camera. If you buy the camera and can't find a lens, I can suggest a couple of mail-order outfits (yes, we have them for cameras, too!) that have them. Vince
