The printer driver is responsible for locating the downloadable font file; but it does so based on the the font number specified by the application. If the application uses the wrong font/FOND to "draw" the printed output, then the wrong PostScript font will be downloaded. If it looks right on the screen, it should be right on the printer, if the FOND used (indirectly) by the application has the right style mapping table, which specifies the names of printer fonts.
