Vic, that's correct, the bandwidth requirement for a two bitplane hires
31.5 KHz screen will be about the same as a 4 bitplane hires 15.75 KHz
screen. In this situation the Amiga takes a significant performance hit if
the cpu or a dma device accesses chip ram. The current two bitplane, 15.75
KHz workbench allows the cpu to access chip ram at essentially full speed.
The flicker fixer deinterlacing approach provides 31.5 KHz video without
increasing the display bandwidth requirement. Peter.
