I've been following this endless discussion about FOND, FONT and NFNT, and the
problems of reorganizing screen-rep fonts with ResEdit, etc. I'm not sure I
understand the problem completely, so could I collar one of y'all for a quick
summary of the general problem?
As a multi-computer person interested in DTP problems, I like to hear about
things that are desired but difficult. Basically, do people want to reorganize
their screen-rep fonts to better correspond with human notions of "family" and
"style"?
I'd guess this whole discussion points out room for improvement in the Mac font
system. If you had your way, what would be an easier way to organize it?
Also, I'm not sure how the correspondence between screen-rep fonts and
PostScript fonts is set up on the Mac. Does it search somewhere for a
downloadable font with the same name and style as a screen-rep font?
