PS Output Problem

I'm not sure if this is a PostScript problem or a typeface problem. If you'll recall from my previous frantic messages, I'm running PM 1.0a on an AT clone with Windows 286 version 2.1 (to which I recently upgraded). A very annoying problem happened on a recent job and I suspect it has something to do with my PostScript driver (which, as far as I know, is the most recent one, packaged with Windows). I was using Futura as a display face, but when I used it in sizes larger than 24 point I got very strange output, although it looked fine on-screen. The job was a tabloid magazine, so we proofed the pages at reduced size and everything looked fine. The problem only occurred when I went to final, full-sized, Lino output. What seemed to occur was that my word spacing disappeared and was replaced by extra letter spacing to space the headlines out over their proper width. This is hard to illustrate here but the heads came out something like this: Instead of a headline like so Ig o tah e a d l i n el i k es o For the lino output (and for the laser proofs) I had outputted my pages into PostScript files, which I then took into the service bureau for printing. Any ideas about what happened?
