John,
I'm not sure if the MiniScribe 's' series are true embedded SCSI
drives, or ST-506 drives with an adaptec chipset built on the drive controller.
If it's the second case..then the speed would be no different.
Don
As a matter of fact Don, when I was looking over the drive I did notice that
one of the chips on the controller board was marked Adaptec. So it looks like
the 8425S is not a true embedded SCSI drive, and would explain the similar
diskperfs. Oh well, my next drive is going to be bigger and faster so I'm not
too worried about the Miniscribe. Thanks again for your help!
John
