For those of you who have ceased subscribing to Amiga World, they have as of 10/19/88, begun to make available the Amiga Companion — a CLI oriented book that is what the AmigaDOS Manual should have been. I worked on it for over a year after seeing the poor job that other books had done in trying to fill that void. For now, the Amiga Companion is only available directly from Amiga World. Fortunately, it is not difficult to find the ad in the magazine in that they are running the ad full page. Even folks who already have the AmigaDOS manual I believe will get a lot of new information from this new book. It is organized on a chapter-by-kind-of-thing-you-want-to-do basis, rather than alphabetically by command name. AND lots and lots of examples throughout the text. We tried to do it right this time and from the feedback I have gotten thusfar, I believe we succeeded. Soon to be available from dealers. Watch for it. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
