#IFF mapping….

Stan, did you get the cell I uploaded over the weekend? The one I was having
trouble with the IFF mapping on? I only mention because I see from the message
traffic that some other uploads may have gotten lost.
Keith – Yes I did. There wasn't a name on the text file, I think I
answered the wrong guy! Anyway I looked at the cell and it wasn't that far
off. The main problem I think you are having is the postition of the Axis
you assigned your brush to. Try this method: Add a sphere with a size of
100. Then add an axis for your brush with a size of 200 "Z" and 320 "X".
Place the axis at -100 "X", -100 "Z" and 0 "Y". If all is well, the brush
axis should be positioned so the "Z" axis is just to the left of the
sphere, and the "X" axis is just below the sphere. Do the "group" and
"cluster" commands as you normally would. THis will give you one copy of
the brush on the sphere.
Stan + Keith, I am 'the wrong guy' stan mailed. I too uploaded a file for
stan to look at (oh confusion…).
Anyway, I tried your layout last night stan, but it still had the mirror
effect on the back of the sphere. Positioning the axis with you co-ords did
make the text much more evenly mapped to the sphere. It seems to me that
the IFF mapping is somehow using up the IFF picture on the front half of
the sphere then doing something weird on the back?. I'm still playing with
it, if I have no luck, I'll mail the entire thing to you stan, you may find
it simpler to see whats going on.
