Slow Amigas

Rating against an A2620 : Yawn.
We ran this test on 2 of the 4 brand-spanking new Rev 6.2 motherboard machines
we had, and got the same results. Note, there were no peripheral cards
installed on either of them. The tests were conducted by booting off a virgin
1.3 WB disk, and then running Speed off another floppy.
Being the inquisitive people we are, we decided to run the Speed program on the
other older Amigas that are scattered around the place, and every one of them
showed at least 7 mhz in the calculated clock rate test. Various accelerators
in these machines also showed close to their true clock speeds, which tended to
reinforce our confidence in Jez's program.
Even more bizarre was the result of our adding a new A2620 card to one of the
"slow" Amigas. It said 7.1 mhz, or about 1/2 the normal 14 mhz rate! It seems
that whether or not we accelerate the machine, it always runs at 1/2 the clock
it should be at.
Just for yucks we ran the Ronin "CPU_Speed" program, and it verified that with
a A2620 installed, the total increase in speed was approximately 2x.
Anyway, something is clearly amiss. Has anyone experienced anything like this
with the new Amigas? Old Amigas??
